Food in the works of Norman Rockwell
February 3 – Norman Rockwell’s birthday is easy to remember for me because it’s also my brother’s birthday. This is apropos since Rockwell’s images of celebrations are some of my favorite. In fact, his illustrations celebrated everyday life, and that’s what I’ve always liked about his work. Of course, I am a hopeless romantic and keen on nostalgic trips, so his representation of Americana naturally works into my mental landscape. Then there are the beloved soda fountain scenes.
